A101

flexible Aramid Insulation Paper

Aratech® A101 Electrical Insulation Paper is a flexible, uncalendered meta-aramid insulation material, it's the lower density version of A766, with a specific gravity of 0.35 and correspondingly lower electrical & mechanical properties, but excels in flexibility, impregnability and formability.
The unique open fiber structure allows deep resin penetration, eliminating voids and enhancing mechanical protection for windings, making it highly suitable for insulation applications where conformability and saturability are needed rather than ultimate dielectric strength, such as motor phase insulation and transformer coil end filler, etc.

Global Leader in Paper-Based Electrical Insulation

Aratech® A101 Core Performance Features

As a world leader in paper-based solutions, we deliver H-Class aramid paper that sets a new benchmark for performance, safety, and economic value.

Good Dielectric Strength

It delivers consistent electrical insulation performance with high dielectric integrity, preventing electrical breakdown and extending system life.

High Flexibility & saturability

More pliable and easier to shape, cut, fold or conform in tight or complex insulation geometries. Great for applications where bulk, bend, and resin filling far outweigh raw strength.

excellent impregnability

Efficiently absorbs varnishes and resins to form dense, void-free insulation layers, enhancing dielectric integrity and mechanical stability in demanding applications.

Exceptional thermal stability

A101 is Class H (180 °C) insulating material. Temperatures up to 200 °C have only a slight effect on its electrical and mechanical properties

Broad chemical compatibility

Offers excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, and compatible with all classes of varnishes and adhesives, transformer fluids, lubricating oils and refrigerants.

outstanding Flame Resistance

Its LOI exceeds 20.8, preventing combustion in air and ensuring reliable fire safety in critical electrical systems. Even at elevated temperatures, it will not melt or drip.

  • MD: Longitudinal direction
  • CD: Horizontal direction
  • Fast boost mode with φ6mm cylindrical electrode.
  • The test frequency is 50Hz.
  • The data in  the sheet are typical and can not be used as the  technical specification. Unless otherwise stated, all data were measured under “Standard Conditions” (with the temperature of 23℃ and the relative humidity of 50% RH).

Key Application Scenarios

  • Phase insulation for motors with curved slots or complex geometry
  • interlayer insulation in transformers (dry-type or oil-immersed)
  • Utilized for linear wrapping of wire and wrapping leads in liquid-immersed transformers.
  • Applied as slot insulation in hand-wound motors and main insulation for large generators.
  • Used as sheet insulation in wet (oil-filled) and dry-type transformers
  • End-fill material in transformer coils for uniform resin fill
  • Lead wire and terminal strip insulation for transformers and motors
